Amends New York Town Law Section 176, subdivision 11-b to allow the Cherry Grove fire department to adopt a resolution holding nomination meetings for chief and assistant chiefs on the third Saturday in September instead of April.

Adds Cherry Grove fire department to the list of departments with alternative nomination meeting dates, alongside Davis Park (last Sunday in September), Caton (second Tuesday in December), and Fair Harbor (third Sunday in September).

Allows the board of fire commissioners to adopt rules providing that future nomination meetings for Cherry Grove fire department shall be held on the third Saturday in September as specified in the department resolution.

Permits fire departments to reverse course and return to April nomination meetings by adopting a resolution during a regular or special meeting held between May and October.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
