Prohibits election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from holding any publicly elected office, with limited exceptions for community board members, school district trustees/officers, notaries public, and commissioners of deeds.

Removes the existing exceptions that permitted election commissioners to hold village officer, city justice, or town justice positions.

Prevents election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from serving as chair of the respective county Democratic or Republican party committee, with a grandfather clause exempting those currently serving in these positions.

Requires candidates for elective office to resign from their position as election commissioner or deputy election commissioner before nomination or designation, or their nomination becomes null and void.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
