Requires all health insurance policies that cover prescription drugs to include coverage for prenatal vitamins when prescribed or ordered by an authorized health care provider under education law title eight

Applies to individual policies, group policies, blanket policies, and health maintenance organization contracts issued by insurance corporations

Coverage for prenatal vitamins may be subject to annual deductibles and coinsurance consistent with other prescription drug benefits, as determined by the superintendent of financial services

Takes effect on January 1st of the year following the bill's enactment and applies to policies issued, reissued, renewed, modified, or amended on or after that date
