Amends Public Health Law Section 4148 to remove language requiring funeral directors and undertakers to pay a fee for the electronic death registration system.

Repeals subdivision 5 of Section 4148, which previously established the fee collection mechanism for burial and removal permits.

Maintains existing duties and compensation of local registrars for accepting death certificates and issuing burial and removal permits.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
