Amends chapter 258 of the laws of 2020 to change the deadline for the volunteer firefighter recruitment and retention task force report from one year after the effective date to December 31, 2022.

Task force membership includes the state fire administrator, commissioners of education, taxation and finance, and labor, nine gubernatorial appointees, representatives from fire associations and chiefs organizations, and legislative appointees.

Report must include recommendations on firefighter training delivery methods, use of community colleges and BOCES for training, creation of a recruitment and retention bureau, tax incentives and benefits, adoption of successful programs from other states, and recruitment of underrepresented populations.

Extends the expiration date of the task force provisions from April 1, 2022 to December 31, 2022.

Act takes effect immediately and is deemed to have been in full force and effect on and after November 11, 2020.
