Commissioner of education is authorized and directed to conduct a study on reducing and eliminating food insecurity at public and private higher education institutions

Study must evaluate sustainable solutions to address basic food needs, increase awareness of existing services, and explore partnerships with businesses or farms to provide excess food

Commissioner must deliver a report to the website of the department of education and to the governor, senate president, assembly speaker, and minority leaders of both chambers within one year of the act's effective date

Report must include recommendations for legislation and administrative actions to reduce and eliminate food insecurity at higher education institutions

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment
