Employees subject to a mandatory or precautionary quarantine or isolation order issued by New York State, the Department of Health, local board of health, or other authorized governmental entity due to COVID-19 are entitled to take sick leave until the order terminates.

During sick leave related to mandatory or precautionary quarantine or isolation, employees are eligible for paid family leave benefits to the extent that sick leave is not otherwise paid by the employer under personnel policies or collective bargaining agreements.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
