State Board of Elections shall study and evaluate blockchain technology for protecting voter records and election results, in consultation with the Office of Information Technology Services.

"Blockchain technology" is defined as distributed ledger technology using a distributed, decentralized, shared and replicated ledger that is cryptographically protected, immutable, auditable, and provides an uncensored truth.

State Board of Elections must submit a report to the governor and legislature no later than one year after the act's effective date, including consideration of blockchain use in other formats and states.

State Board of Elections shall evaluate data with assistance from experts in blockchain technology, voter fraud, cyber security, voter records, and election results.

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
