Allows insurers to waive the requirement to inspect private passenger automobiles before providing physical damage coverage by filing a statement of operation with the superintendent.

Permits insurers to waive inspections for some or all automobiles in their statement of operation, which takes effect upon filing.

Applies to newly issued policies and to replacement or additional automobiles added to existing policies, unless the insurer has waived the inspection requirement.

Authorizes the superintendent to establish circumstances in regulations or insurer statements of operation where inspections may be dispensed with or deferred, including for new automobiles, situations causing hardship, or limited-period coverage.

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law and expires October 1, 2027.
