Allows members of the New York City Fire Department Pension Fund (Tier 3) to obtain service credit for prior service rendered as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) with the NYC Employees' Retirement System (NYCERS).

Eligible EMT service must immediately precede service in the uniformed fire department and will be counted as pensionable service for determining benefit eligibility and benefit amounts.

Members must pay or transfer all member contributions plus 5% annual interest into the Fire Department Pension Fund to obtain credit for EMT service.

Members who transfer or withdraw contributions from NYCERS will have their NYCERS membership cease and retain no credited service in that system.

Applies to members with ten or more years of credited service in NYCERS; estimated initial annual employer contribution increase of $3.9 million affecting approximately 1,261 active Fire Tier 3 members.
