First grade NYPD officers with 30 years of service gain pension rights equivalent to a sergeant with 2 years at the highest salary rate for that rank.

Employer contributions to the Police Pension Fund are projected to increase from $1.0 million in 2026 to a peak of $15.1 million in 2039, then gradually decline through 2049.

Present Value of Future Benefits expected to increase by approximately $8.2 million annually beginning in the first year of enactment.

Individual Tier 2 officers receiving this benefit would see annual pension increases of approximately $4,300 (at 25 years) or $12,200 (at 30 years).
