Grants Lori Cohen retroactive membership in the New York State Teachers' Retirement System with Tier II status effective July 1, 1975, when she began work as a substitute teacher with the Oceanside and Rockville Centre school districts.

Cohen's pension will be recalculated based on Tier II status with retroactive adjustments to payments made since her retirement date of July 1, 2018.

Requires Cohen to file a written application with the head of the New York State Teachers' Retirement System within one year of the act's effective date.

No member contributions will be returned or refunded to Cohen, and all past service costs estimated at $135,000 will be borne by all participating employers in the retirement system.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
