Expands the definition of eligible fire marshal titles under Nassau County retirement provisions to include county fire marshals, assistant fire marshals, and division supervising fire marshals in addition to previously covered positions.

Creates new death benefit provisions allowing beneficiaries of deceased fire marshals (who were eligible for service retirement at time of death) to receive a lump sum equal to the pension reserve that would have been established upon retirement, or the death benefit and reserve-for-increased-take-home-pay, whichever is greater.

Extends presumptive evidence of work-related disability for heart disease to all specified fire marshal titles employed by Nassau County, with requirement that employees pass pre-employment physical examination showing no heart disease.

Establishes that past service costs of approximately $48,700 (or $6,220 annually if amortized over 10 years) shall be borne by Nassau County and are exempt from state appropriation requirements.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
