Establishes accidental disability retirement benefits for deputy sheriffs employed by Nassau County hired on or after July 27, 1976.

Provides a pension of three-quarters of final average salary (compared to current two-thirds) for deputy sheriffs who become physically or mentally incapacitated due to job-related accidents not caused by their own willful negligence.

Requires written notice to the state comptroller within 90 days of the accident, unless the accident is reported under workers' compensation law, application is filed within one year, or good cause excuses the delay.

Allows applications to be filed by the injured member, the department head, or an authorized representative; members separated from service may apply within two years of separation if they meet eligibility requirements.

Places all implementation costs on Nassau County, estimated at approximately $14,000 in annual contributions for fiscal year 2023-2024 and a one-time past service cost of approximately $62,800.
