School districts must develop career major programs in electric vehicle maintenance and repair for secondary students and adults in career education programs, following a phase-in schedule determined by a working group.

Every career education school in the state shall offer courses necessary to meet career major requirements, with courses also available to high school students in districts offering the program.

Establishes an 8-member working group on electric vehicle career education achievement within 60 days of the law's effective date, composed of representatives from the Public Service Commission, energy authority, Department of Education, an electric vehicle engineering expert, and an environmental organization.

The working group shall provide annual recommendations to the Commissioner of Education and school district boards on curriculum, assessments, and criteria for earning the electric vehicle maintenance and repair career major.

The bill defines "electric vehicle" as on-road vehicles powered by rechargeable batteries or fuel cells, excluding off-road vehicles like golf carts and industrial equipment.
