Allows Abigail Rivera, widow of deceased NYPD Officer Mark Rivera, to apply for Enhanced Tier 3 pension membership status on behalf of her husband within one year of the act's effective date.

Officer Rivera died on March 21, 2015, as a Tier 3 member; this legislation retroactively makes him eligible for Enhanced Tier 3, which includes extended statutory presumptions under the Heart Bill (General Municipal Law § 207-k).

Ms. Rivera may file for retirement options and death benefits available under Enhanced Tier 3, with any amounts previously paid to her deducted from future benefits.

The City of New York bears all costs associated with the legislation, estimated to increase the Police Pension Fund's unfunded liability by approximately $2.6 million and employer contributions by $2.9 million in Fiscal Year 2025.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
