Expands the definition of "family leave" under workers' compensation law to explicitly include bereavement leave upon the death of a family member.

Allows employees to provide notice of bereavement leave "as soon as practicable" rather than requiring the standard 30-day advance notice for other types of family leave.

Permits a death certificate to serve as proof of need for bereavement family leave, and exempts deceased family members from physical examination requirements.

Effective January 1, 2025 and applies to all workers' compensation policies or contracts issued, renewed, modified, altered or amended on or after that date.
