Mandates insurance coverage for screening, diagnosis, and treatment of autism spectrum disorder in individual, group, and HMO policies that provide physician or medical services.

Limits coverage for applied behavior analysis and developmental, individual-differences, relationship-based treatment to a maximum of 680 hours per calendar year per covered individual.

Adds "developmental, individual-differences, relationship-based treatment" as a defined service, requiring providers to have professional certification from the Interdisciplinary Council on Development and Learning.

Establishes that individuals providing behavioral health treatment under a licensed provider must meet standards of professionalism, supervision, and relevant experience as determined by the superintendent in consultation with health and education commissioners.

Becomes effective 90 days after enactment.
