Amends insurance law sections 3217-a and 4324, and public health law section 4408 to require health insurers and health maintenance organizations to allow insureds to request electronic notification when prior authorization is required to fill a prescription.

Electronic notification must be provided within thirty days when prior authorization is required, where applicable.

Changes punctuation in existing disclosure requirements regarding in-network providers and out-of-network coverage approximations to accommodate the new electronic notification provision.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
