Transfers all duties, functions, and powers of the regional state park police from the office of parks, recreation and historic preservation to the division of state police, effective immediately.

Regional state park police employees who pass background investigations shall be appointed to the division of state police within 90 days, with no reduction in salary and credit for all accrued leave.

Employees with four or more years of permanent service as regional state park police officers become eligible for the next scheduled sergeant promotional examination without meeting standard service requirements.

Transferred employees retain retirement benefits from their previous system or receive division of state police benefits, whichever is higher; disability retirement claims for pre-transfer injuries remain eligible under the previous system.

Repeals subdivisions 4 of section 9.05 and section 13.17 of the parks, recreation and historic preservation law; transfers all facilities, vehicles, records, equipment, assets, liabilities, and remaining appropriations to the division of state police.
