Requires common, union free, central, and city school districts and boards of cooperative educational services to develop policies ensuring health and safety during extreme heat condition days (defined as 82°F or greater in occupied educational and support spaces)

Mandates schools take action to relieve heat-related discomfort when occupied space temperature reaches 82°F, including turning off overhead lights, closing shades, using fans, opening windows, turning off unused electronics, and providing water breaks

Prohibits occupancy of educational and support services spaces when room temperature reaches 88°F or higher

Specifies that room temperature shall be measured at a shaded location three feet above the floor near the center of the room, and excludes kitchen food preparation areas from the temperature requirements

Takes effect September 1, 2025
