Establishes a presumption that heart disease contracted by correction officers, correction supervisors, deputy sheriff patrol, and deputy sheriff patrol supervisors is work-related and compensable as an accidental disability, unless proven otherwise by competent evidence.

Applies only to members of the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System (NYSLERS) who passed a pre-employment physical examination showing no evidence of heart disease.

Benefits vary by tier: Tiers 1-2 receive 3/4 of final average salary minus workers' compensation; Tiers 3-6 under Article 14-B receive 2/3 of final average salary minus workers' compensation; other Tier 3-6 members receive 1/3 of final average salary.

Exempts the legislation from Section 25 of the Retirement and Social Security Law and takes effect immediately upon enactment.

Estimated fiscal impact includes approximately $7.42 million in immediate past service costs and approximately $2.84 million in additional annual employer contributions for fiscal year 2025, with ongoing annual costs varying based on billing rates and salary changes.
