Allows New York City Department of Education employees in UFT-represented titles currently in the Board of Education Retirement System (BERS) to transfer to the Teachers' Retirement System (TRS) by filing notice within one year of becoming eligible for TRS membership.

Redefines "teacher" in the administrative code to include board of education employees in UFT-represented titles who apply for TRS membership on a form supplied by the retirement board.

Requires BERS to transfer the member's accrued liability reserve and all employee contributions to TRS upon receiving transfer notice, with transferees entitled to all rights, privileges, and benefits of the new system.

Projected to increase NYC employer pension contributions by $2.3-2.4 million annually from 2025-2037, declining thereafter, with an unfunded accrued liability of approximately $9 million amortized over 13 years through 2037.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
