Grants Michael Quatrocci, a Yonkers police officer who contracted COVID-19 in March 2020, a presumption that his resulting disability was incurred in the performance of duty for purposes of accidental disability retirement.

Presumes the disability is the natural and proximate result of duty discharge unless proven otherwise by competent evidence under section 363 of the Retirement and Social Security Law.

Allows Quatrocci to apply for accidental disability retirement benefits equal to 75 percent of final average salary, less workers' compensation.

Creates an immediate past service cost of approximately $832,000 to be borne by the State of New York and all local participating employers in the New York State and Local Police and Fire Retirement System.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
