Adds a comprehensive definition of "autism" to Section 1.03 of the Mental Hygiene Law as a pervasive developmental disorder.

Defines autism to include five diagnostic categories: autistic disorder, Asperger's disorder, pervasive developmental disorder not otherwise specified, Rett's disorder, and childhood disintegrative disorder.

Autistic disorder requires at least six symptoms across three areas (social interaction, communication, and restricted/repetitive behaviors) with onset prior to age three.

Asperger's disorder requires social interaction impairments and restricted/repetitive behaviors without clinically significant language or cognitive delay.

Effective date is September 1, 2025.
