Creates a new section 115 of the education law requiring schools to provide parents with information on safe firearm storage at the beginning of each school year in public, nonpublic, and charter schools.

Directs the division of criminal justice services, in consultation with the department of education, to develop the firearm safe storage information pursuant to sections 265.45 and 265.50 of the penal law.

Requires the information be presented in clear and concise manner and translated into the six most common languages spoken in the state.

Mandates the information include an explanation of current firearm storage laws and guidance on how parents can obtain additional information.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment, with the school notification requirement taking effect July 1 following the date the bill becomes law.
