Election commissioners and designated board of elections employees must complete a mandatory training course within six months of first appointment, provided by the state board of elections and not exceeding 30 hours of instruction.

Annually, election commissioners and designated employees must complete a continuing training course before June 1st covering board of elections operations, not exceeding 3 hours of instruction, provided by the state board of elections.

The state board of elections must offer annual training through web-based recorded format in addition to other methods it may choose.

The state board of elections must notify the county legislature or city council and respective county party chair if a commissioner or employee fails to complete required training within the specified timeframe.

The act takes effect 180 days after becoming law, with regulations for implementation authorized to be adopted immediately.
