Memorializes Governor Kathy Hochul to proclaim September 2024 as Sepsis Awareness Month in New York State, in conjunction with National Sepsis Month.

Notes that sepsis is a life-threatening response to infection causing tissue damage, organ failure, and death, with particular vulnerability among the young, elderly, individuals with chronic illness, and those with compromised immune systems.

Identifies that one out of three people will develop sepsis over their lifetime, 1.7 million are diagnosed annually, 350,000 die each year from sepsis, and approximately 50,000 New Yorkers are affected.

Emphasizes that 87 percent of sepsis occurs at home or in the community, and each hour of treatment delay increases mortality risk by four to eight percent.

Directs copies of the resolution to be transmitted to Governor Hochul, Sepsis Alliance, The END SEPSIS Foundation, the Home Care Association of New York State, and IPRO.
