Prohibits election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from holding any publicly elected office, with limited exceptions for notary public, community board member, and school district trustee/officer.

Removes previous exceptions for village officers, city justices, and town justices from the list of compatible offices.

Bars election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from serving as chair of the county Democratic or Republican party committee.

Grandfathers current election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from the restriction on serving as party chair.

Requires election commissioners or deputy election commissioners to resign before being nominated or designated for any elective office they would be ineligible to hold, or the nomination becomes void.
