Election commissioners and designated board of elections employees must complete a mandatory training course within six months of their first appointment, not to exceed 30 hours of instruction, provided by the state board of elections.

Election commissioners and designated employees must complete an annual continuing education course before June 1st each year, not to exceed 3 hours of instruction, provided by the state board of elections.

The state board of elections must offer the annual continuing education through web-based recorded format in addition to other methods it may choose.

The state board of elections must notify the county legislature or city council and respective county party chair if a commissioner or employee fails to complete required training within the specified timeframe.

The act takes effect 180 days after becoming law, with authority for the state board of elections to adopt necessary rules and regulations immediately.
