Repeals paragraph 11-b of subsection (i) of section 3216 of the insurance law relating to colorectal cancer coverage requirements.

Amends coverage requirements for large group policies to include colorectal cancer preventive screenings in accordance with American Cancer Society Guidelines for average risk individuals, effective six months after guideline issuance.

Adds new section 4303(uu) to extend the same colorectal cancer screening coverage requirements to large group contracts under article 43 of the insurance law.

Requires insurers, health service corporations, and health maintenance organizations to notify insureds and enrollees at least annually of covered colorectal cancer screenings and current American Cancer Society screening guidelines, via U.S. mail unless consent to another method is obtained.

Changes the effective date provision to specify that covered screenings must be provided upon policy issuance or renewal occurring six months after the applicable guideline date, rather than immediately upon issuance or delivery.
