Allows counties, cities, towns, and villages wholly or partially within the Adirondack park to establish special districts for financing and operating general ambulance services, either individually or jointly with other municipalities.

Special districts must follow the same procedures required for establishing fire districts under Article 11 of the Town Law or joint fire districts under Article 11-A of the Town Law.

Requires any county, city, town, or village that establishes or participates in a joint ambulance district to dissolve and abolish any preexisting local district serving the same jurisdiction.

Permits municipalities to use ambulance services through contracts, employment, or other authorized methods, including services provided by certified emergency medical technicians and advanced emergency medical technicians.

Takes effect immediately, with certain provisions subject to expiration and reversion based on prior legislation from 2022.
