Lawrence Ecker, who retired from the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System on January 1, 2021, is authorized to receive additional full-time service credit for the period January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022.

Ecker must file a written request with the retirement system within one year of the act's effective date to have his pension recalculated to include the additional service credit.

The additional service credit covers his employment period as a state supreme court judge from approximately June 2021 through June 2022, including time when he was technically retired and collecting pension benefits.

All implementation costs, estimated at approximately $238,000 as a one-time payment, shall be borne by the Office of Court Administration.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
