Mandates coverage for asthma self-management education for patients and parents, including information on device use and environmental triggers, with coverage limited to medically necessary visits upon diagnosis or significant changes in symptoms.

Allows coverage for asthma education to be provided by physicians, licensed health care providers, or certified asthma nurse educators in office visits, group settings, or home visits when medically necessary.

Takes effect January 1st following enactment and applies to all insurance policies issued, renewed, altered, or modified on or after that date.
