Amends Village Law Section 3-300 to allow the Village Board of Trustees of Maybrook in Orange County to authorize village justices to reside outside the village, provided they live in either the Town of Montgomery or Town of Hamptonburgh within Orange County.

Amends Public Officers Law Section 3 to exempt Maybrook village justices from the residency requirement that typically mandates officials reside within their political subdivision, allowing residence in Montgomery or Hamptonburgh instead.

Clarifies that the residency exemption applies only to Maybrook village justices and does not affect residency requirements for justices in any other village unless separately authorized by state legislation.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
