Prohibits the use of lead ammunition (defined as ammunition containing one or more percent lead by weight) for hunting on state-owned land open for hunting, including wildlife management areas, state forests, forest preserves, and state parks.

Extends the lead ammunition prohibition to all land areas that contribute surface water to the New York City water supply.

Requires the Department of Environmental Conservation to include information about lead ammunition prohibitions in the hunting syllabus distributed to hunters obtaining licenses.

Takes effect January 1, 2025, with authorization for the department to adopt necessary rules and regulations prior to the effective date.
