Commissioner of Education shall establish Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander history and civic impact curriculum for school districts, with age-appropriate content tailored to successive grade levels

Required curriculum content shall include the history of diaspora in New York and the Northeast, movements and policies impacting these communities, and their contributions to government, arts, sciences, and economic/cultural/social/political development

Required curriculum must address historical structures and events that limited or harmed Asian American, Native Hawaiian, Pacific Islander, and other marginalized communities, particularly related to the civil rights movement

Schools may integrate these materials into history, social studies, or other curricula as they deem appropriate

Act takes effect July 1 following enactment
