Authorizes the town of Smithtown in Suffolk County to enact ordinances prohibiting the discharge of longbows in areas where such activity may be hazardous to the public or nearby residents.

Authorizes the town of Smithtown in Suffolk County to enact ordinances prohibiting the discharge of crossbows in areas where such activity may be hazardous to the public or nearby residents.

Requires the town to post signs in prohibited areas giving notice of the regulations for both longbows and crossbows.

Requires the town to notify the regional supervisor of fish and game at the Department of Environmental Conservation 30 days before adopting any ordinance that changes the 150-foot rule for longbows or the 250-foot rule for crossbows established under Environmental Conservation Law section 11-0931.

Takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
