Requires fire district commissioner elections to be held on the same date and at the same polling place as school board member elections for the municipality, eliminating separate election dates previously specified for different districts.

Removes previous provisions allowing certain fire districts in Suffolk County (Ocean Bay Park, Lonelyville, Davis Park, Cherry Grove, Fair Harbor, and Fire Island Pines) to hold elections in July and other districts to hold elections in December or November.

Changes polling hours from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., aligning with standard school board election hours.

Requires fire district ballots and election procedures to follow the same methods and manner used for school board elections, as determined by the county board of elections, with all costs borne by the fire district.

Transfers responsibility for appointing poll workers and prescribing their duties and salaries from fire district commissioners to the local board of elections under election law section 3-300.
