Human services professionals who knowingly and willfully fail to report suspected abuse or neglect to a 9-1-1 operator and county district attorney's office are guilty of a class E felony (changed from class A misdemeanor).

Mandated reporters who knowingly and willfully fail to make required reports may be subject to termination and are civilly liable for damages caused by the failure.

All state and private agencies with mandatory reporters must retrain staff on reporting procedures to 9-1-1 operators and county district attorneys' offices.

All websites, training manuals, brochures, posters, wallet cards and other materials must be updated to direct reporting to 9-1-1 operators and county district attorneys' offices, removing references to the justice center.
