Dog license applications must include a clearly marked section for voluntary contributions to the pound or shelter in the municipality where the owner resides or a contracted animal shelter organization.

The contribution section must be visually distinct with bold lettering or on a separate page to clearly indicate it is voluntary and not part of the license fee, and may suggest reasonable contribution amounts.

Municipalities must deposit all monies collected from voluntary contributions into a dedicated fund and distribute the proceeds annually to the organization listed on the application.

Voluntary contributions may not replace any existing funding commitments to animal shelter organizations.

The act takes effect thirty days after becoming law.
