Amends New York Penal Law Section 120.05 to add two new assault provisions targeting employees of NYC Department of Buildings and Department of Housing Preservation and Development.

Creates new Class D felony for assaulting specified inspectors (construction, housing, elevator, plumbing, boiler, hoist and rigging, or multi-discipline) with intent to prevent them from performing lawful duties.

Creates separate Class D felony for assaulting the same specified inspector titles with intent to cause physical injury while they perform lawful duties.

Applies to employees holding the titles: construction inspector, housing inspector, associate housing inspector level I and II, elevator inspector, associate elevator inspector, plumbing inspector, boiler inspector, low-pressure boiler inspector, hoist and rigging inspector, and inspector multi-discipline.

Becomes effective immediately upon enactment.
