Department of Environmental Conservation must engage and coordinate Long Island municipalities, Alfred University, and the Glass Packaging Institute to develop a regional plan for Long Island glass recycling

Regional plan must include proposals for the reuse of recycled materials

Regional plan must identify state-owned property or property that could be acquired by the state suitable for building a Long Island glass recycling facility

Department must submit report detailing the regional plan to the governor, legislature leaders, Nassau County executive, and Suffolk County executive within one year of the act's effective date

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment
