Inspector examines hull, machinery, electrical apparatus, and equipment, and may require repairs or improvements necessary for safe operation and fix passenger capacity limits.

Applies sections 47, 47-b, 48, 49-a, and 49-b of the navigation law to underground non-navigable waterway vessels carrying passengers for compensation.

Authorizes inspector to suspend a vessel's certificate of inspection if operation poses a risk to public safety after providing written notice of defects to the owner.

Establishes misdemeanor penalties for vessel owners who permit operation of vessels without a valid certificate of inspection or during suspension, with penalties assessed for each day of violation.
