Requires each coroner and coroner's deputy to complete no less than 30 credits in state-approved medical-legal investigation courses over a three-year period.

Coroners and coroner's deputies must register triennially with the department of health to practice and comply with the mandatory continuing education requirements.

Exempts coroners and coroner's deputies from the continuing education requirement for one year following their initial election or appointment.

Prohibits coroners and coroner's deputies who fail to satisfy the continuing education requirements from practicing until they obtain a certificate of completion from the department of health or other authorized agency.

Allows the department of health to grant adjustments to the continuing education requirement for reasons of health, extended active duty with the armed forces, or other good cause.
