Adds highway workers, motor carrier investigators, and motor vehicle inspectors to the list of workers protected under Penal Law § 120.05 subdivision 11 (second-degree assault).

Defines "highway worker" as any person employed by state, county, city, town, village, public authority, or contractor assigned to perform work on highways or within state highway rights-of-way, including construction, maintenance, flagging, and equipment operation.

Defines "motor carrier investigator" as any person employed by the Department of Transportation assigned to investigate motor carriers regulated by the commissioner.

Defines "motor vehicle inspector" as any person employed by the Department of Transportation assigned to inspect motor vehicles regulated by the commissioner.

Takes effect ninety days after becoming law.
