Participating programs include those offering property tax exemptions, state park discounts, career services, long-term care for veteran seniors, disability assistance, affordable housing, sporting licenses, and postsecondary education benefits

State agencies providing assistance in health, mental health, family services, criminal justice, or employment must request information about veteran status and military experiences from assisted persons

Veterans identifying themselves, including those with veteran notations on driver's licenses, must be advised about services available through the Department of Veterans' Services and local veterans' service agencies

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law, with agencies authorized to begin implementing necessary rules and regulations immediately
