Requires health insurance policies that cover prescription drugs to include coverage for asthma inhalers prescribed by a physician or licensed health care provider

Mandates coverage for one rescue inhaler and one maintenance inhaler with no deductible, copayment, coinsurance, or other cost-sharing requirement

Exempts high deductible health plans (as defined by IRS Code Section 223(c)(2)) from the no-cost requirement if compliance would make the insured ineligible for a health savings account

Applies to individual policies, group/blanket policies, and health service corporations providing comprehensive medical coverage

Takes effect January 1, 2027, applying to all policies issued, renewed, modified, altered, or amended on or after that date
