Requires the Commissioner of Education, in consultation with the Division of Human Rights, to establish hate crime awareness curriculum or instruction for school districts

Curriculum must cover discrimination and religious intolerance, specifically including anti-Semitism and Islamophobia, as well as positive actions students can take to promote acceptance and inclusion

Content may be varied by school district and need not be uniform statewide, but must be age-appropriate and developed according to grade-level needs and abilities

Schools may incorporate the curriculum as part of social studies or in any other manner deemed appropriate

Takes effect on July 1 following enactment, with authority for necessary regulations to be developed immediately
