Establishes a minimum five-year duration for orders of protection in all cases involving domestic violence under the Family Court Act and Domestic Relations Law

Increases the minimum duration of orders of protection following felony convictions from eight years to ten years from the date of sentencing

Extends orders of protection to at least ten years from the expiration of the maximum term of an indeterminate or determinate prison sentence for felony convictions

Changes felony conviction orders from a "shall not exceed" maximum cap to a "no less than" minimum floor, shifting the standard from upper limits to lower limits

Applies to orders issued in family court proceedings, matrimonial proceedings, and criminal sentencing involving family or household members
